Fersa launches campaign for early detection of oncological pathologies
When taking care of the team becomes a priority, initiatives like this one arise
At Fersa we work with a solid preventive culture, always betting on safe workplaces that promote a responsible and collaborative attitude that also encourages prevention and awareness. For this reason, we have implemented a series of tests that favor the early detection of oncological pathologies, complementary to the medical protocols determined by the characteristics and conditions of the workplace. All members of our team who are over 45 years of age have the possibility of accessing the following examinations:
- Prostate cancer screening for men. It is obtained from the same blood test taken during the annual examination for the detection of a possible occurrence of prostate carcinoma.
- Breast and uterine cancer screening for women. It includes a gynecological examination, cytology, gynecological ultrasound and mammography.
Why is it important to carry out this type of action? According to data from the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) and the INE (National Statistics Institute), cancer is the second leading cause of death in Spain, after diseases of the circulatory system, with 5,922 deaths from prostate cancer and 6,651 from breast cancer in the last year. Carrying out prevention campaigns and screening examinations will help to improve these results, reinforcing sensitivity and awareness. At Fersa, we want to be part of that change.
