The Mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, visits Fersa's new factory in the Chinese city of Jiaxing
This 30,000 m² facility, which will be officially inaugurated next March, brings together the production lines, logistics warehouse, R&D and quality laboratories, and the subsidiary's offices.
The Spanish multinational Fersa, a specialist in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of bearings and mobility solutions for the automotive, energy, and industrial sectors, welcomed the Mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, to its new factory in the Chinese city of Jiaxing on the afternoon of Saturday, February 15.
The meeting took place as part of the mayor's tour in the Asian giant, within the framework of the commercial mission being carried out by the Zaragoza City Council to position the city as an attractive hub for Asian investors.
During her visit to Fersa China, the mayor had the opportunity to see firsthand the new complex, which integrates the company's offices, quality and R&D laboratories, and the bearing manufacturing plant, among other facilities.
The General Manager of Fersa China, Miguel Alquezar, presented the mayor with the company's growth plan for the 2025–2027 horizon, outlining their sales growth objectives and future vision, which is centered on innovation, expansion into new markets, and people development. This vision aligns with the company's fundamental and foundational pillars.
For her part, the mayor reaffirmed the importance of continuing to build and strengthen institutional and business ties between Zaragoza and China, fostering relationships that promise successful and evolving ventures like Fersa's global growth story.
A new factory to strengthen its presence in Asia
Fersa's new factory in the city of Jiaxing began operations just a few weeks ago and will be officially inaugurated next March.
The complex is twice the size of the facility the company opened in Jiaxing in 2011, now spanning 30,000 m². It consolidates production lines, the logistics warehouse, R&D and quality laboratories, and offices within the same premises.
This investment and Fersa's commitment to increasing its production capacity in China will enable the company to expand its presence in the Asian market, focusing on the automotive and wind energy sectors.
Over a decade committed to internationalization
A key factor in Fersa's growth has been its firm commitment to internationalization: establishing a presence in different markets, offering a wide variety of products, and responding to emerging global demands.
The factory in Jiaxing marked Fersa's first major strategic step in its internationalization journey during the early 2000s, laying the foundation for the international expansion that has significantly driven the company's growth.
Since its establishment in Jiaxing in 2011, Fersa has become a driving force for the region's economy. This impact led to a collaboration agreement signed in 2023 between the multinational and the local government, committing both parties to jointly invest €37 million over the next five years in building the new production plant.
