Fersa Solutions in the new Maxus SUV
The Maxus D90 includes our bearings in all differential, front and rear axle applications.
The new SUV Maxus D90 is the first intelligent and customizable vehicle to be mass produced in China. It will be marketed in China, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Russia and, later, in Latin America, Africa and even Eastern Europe.
SAIC Motor (the largest car manufacturer in China) presented the Maxus D90 on April 19, 2017, at the Shanghai fair, but at Fersa we started working with them on their first concept car, the SV91, in the beginning of 2015. Collaborating with SAIC from the start of the project has allowed us to develop a close relationship, understanding their requirements and adapting our bearings to the needs of their vehicle.
Our bearings complete the entire "drivetrain" transmission platform and are found in the all Maxus D90 differential front and rear axle applications.
For this project, we have devoted a specific high-efficiency production line to respond to the increasing demand of the Asian market.
Mr. Ye Lee, Purchasing Manager for the SAIC Motor Corporation, calculates a volume of sales for 2018 close to 50,000, which will make our Jiaxing subsidiary manufacture more than 400,000 pieces per year. The Chinese automaker plans to launch a new small SUV model in early 2019. This new project is also expected to count on Fersa as a bearing supplier, "as long as Fersa's products continue to maintain their strong competitiveness", says Mr. Lee.
Maxus is one of the commercial brands of the SAIC Motor Corporation group, the largest automotive company in China. In 2016, it sold 6.489 million vehicles and climbed to 41st place on the Fortune magazine annual list of the 500 largest companies worldwide.
